The vitamins company Tespo has launched Smile Bariatric, a new division designed to support bariatric surgery patients, as well as a digital health platform to help them manage their nutritional needs. According to the company, the Smile Bariatric Complete is a blend of vitamins and supplements to be used after surgery.

Taken twice daily, Bariatric Complete is in liquid formula for patients who have had a sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-y gastric bypass or adjustable gastric band. Smile Bariatric ingredients are customised for each individual through physician consultations and compliant with the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery’s standards.

“The goal of the Smile Bariatric line of products and digital health platform is to seamlessly support a healthy lifestyle for individuals who have made the commitment to improve their long-term heath,” explained Ted Mills, co-founder and CEO of Tespo. “We have been inspired by the stories of so many customers who have taken this positive step and are excited about what it means for them in the months and years ahead.”

The Tespo dispenser also syncs with users’ smart phones, Amazon Alexa, activity trackers, digital scales and other smart devices, allowing the dispenser to monitor and track health goals and nutritional compliance. Through the Baritastic app, customers can receive notifications and reminders and have access to support groups, recipes and more. Used by more than 30,000 people per day and as a patient supplement platform by more than 85 hospitals in the US, data from the app can also be shared with medical professionals.
