We also report a paper that found no significant differences between LigaSure and Harmonic in LSG outcomes, the evolution of the UK’s National Bariatric Surgery Registry, results from the GATEWAY study that found bariatric surgery most effective treatment for long-term hypertension and the first procedures of the Endoscopic BariTon implant intended to mimic sleeve gastrectomy and bypass surgery.
There is also a report that found endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty more cost-effective than semaglutide, several papers discussing whether GLP-1s increase residual gastric content before anaesthesia, the outcomes of magnetic anchoring device assisted-LSG, and the first results from the ForePass endoscopic device.
We report on the outcomes from the BEATLES study and the effectiveness of bariatric embolization using BTG-001933 microspheres, a paper highlighting that bariatric surgery leads to cognitive improvement in approximately 40% of participants, and a study that reported intraoperative leak tests correlated with increase in staple line leakage but a lower rate of postoperative bleeding.
