Unlocking the barriers to obesity and type 2 diabetes treatment

To conclude this e-learning series, on 9th January 2019 (18:00-19:00 CET, 17:00-18:00 GMT) the panel moderators will review the main points of the previous sessions and engage in a final ‘Great Debate’

The Johnson and Johnson Institute, the educational arm of Johnson & Johnson, is pleased to announce a series of innovative e-learning programmes in which leading Key Opinion Leaders will not only address the barriers to obesity and type 2 diabetes treatment, but also discuss in detail how to unlock them. During the two remaining webinars, the faculty will demonstrate insightful aspects of a specific barrier and present different approaches on ways of overcoming it.

This activity is suitable to anyone around the world involved in the care of obesity and type 2 diabetes. This includes the whole multi-disciplinary team including bariatric and metabolic surgeons, diabetologists, endocrinologists, primary care physicians, dieticians, psychologists, other allied health care professionals, nurses and nurse specialists, administrators, managers, patient representatives and anyone involved in patient education and health policy.

These educational webinars will be chaired by Carel le Roux MD (Ireland) and include a panel faculty of bariatric and metabolic specialists including Camilo Boza MD (Chile), David Cummings MD (USA), Ricardo Cohen MD, PHD (Brazil), Francis Finucane MB, MD (Ireland), Lee Kaplan MD, PHD (USA), Alexander Kokkinos MD, PHD (Greece), Thomas Lutz MD (Switzerland), Dimitri Pournaras MD, PHD (UK), Alexander Miras MD (UK), Francesco Rubino MD (UK) and Philip Schauer MD (USA).

The next session will be hosted on 10th December (18:00-19:00 CET, 17:00-18:00 GMT) and examine ‘What is the role of the patient?’ To conclude this e-learning series, on 9th January 2019 (18:00-19:00 CET, 17:00-18:00 GMT) the panel moderators will review the main points of the previous three sessions and engage in a final ‘Great Debate’.
