SAGES 2015 Annual Meeting Information
On behalf of SAGES and the Program Committee, we would like to invite you to attend the SAGES 2015 Annual Meeting in Nashville, TN – Music City, USA.
This year’s SAGES Meeting will be held at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center (part of the Marriott portfolio of brands), from April 15-18 2015 and will continue a long-standing tradition of strong didactic sessions by world-renowned experts, combined with exploration of innovative technology in the broad spectrum of general surgery. Our international participation, which last year included surgeons from 69 countries, continues to increase, demonstrating the importance of this meeting around the world. A variety of topics will be covered that includes sessions on foregut, colorectal, abdominal wall, bariatric and oncologic surgery. Highlights include: seven postgraduate (PG) courses (including novel PG courses in robotic hepatobiliary surgery, the Fundamental Use of Surgical Energy, and career development); and panel sessions on lessons learned in 25 years of laparoscopic cholecystectomy and endolumenal management of GI surgery complications. This year’s meeting is joint with IPEG and the Military Surgical Symposium and will highlight approaches to GI disease in a pediatric and adolescent population.
The program for the 2015 meeting focuses on relevant clinical problems that busy surgeons encounter every day in their respective practices, including management of complications, approaches for reoperative surgery, and laparoscopy in the acute care setting. New this year are sessions geared to surgeons in community or hospital based practice with information designed to be readily adopted into your daily practice. Sessions are structured to provide self-assessment CME credits, fulfilling Part 2 of the American Board of Surgery Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.
As with all SAGES technology-friendly meetings, the conference features electronic media to allow you to personalize your experience. A SAGES Meeting App will provide access to meeting content via your handheld devices while a desktop-based Personal Meeting Planner will help you and your staff plan your meeting experience within your enterprise, and e-mails and tweets during the meeting will keep attendees informed of upcoming and on-going informative and exciting events. We encourage you to bring your family as day care opportunities will be available for all children. The entire family is encouraged to volunteer for one of our community service events. Of course, no SAGES meeting would be complete without the Friday night Main Event and Sing-off. We are in Music City after all and promise to have a great evening of live music, great food and fun at the Wildhorse Saloon, a landmark Nashville venue.
